Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry.
The poems are limited to 3 lines and 17 syllables.

5 on the first line,
7 on the second line,
and 5 on the third.

I try to write one Haiku everyday.
Most days I fail, but some days inspiration strikes.
Sometimes it gushes for days at a time.
You can never tell when something will touch your heart.

Thanks for spending a moment reading
Haiku from the Heart.

I hope you'll be back to read my words.

Wheel of Time

Once I was the seed...
Flew, set roots in distant lands.
Now I am the tree.

Still, the garden grows.

close to the giant oak tree,
grows not a giant.

The thought nourishes my soul.
Like rain on parched land.

Nature of the Job

Tending your rose bush.
Pruning the dead wood and rot.
Some thorns will draw blood.

Nature / Nurture

Tending your garden.
Build a trellis near the shoot.
The vine goes elsewhere.

Slowly the storm passes by.
Rolling waves. Silence.

Yin-Yang

Am I better at
good cop or bad? No matter.
I have to do both.

Acceptance

Sure, I'm not perfect.
At least I try all the time.
Should count for something.

Motivation

Some boulders you must
push till you find a slope they
will roll down themselves.

Jagged mountain rock,
carried, polished, transported
into adulthood.

Conversations With My Parents

They, distant forest.
The wind brings their scents to me.
Me, earth. Miss their shade.

Conversations With My Kids

Kids, clouds. They float free.
Their words like raindrops, drench me.
Me, earth. I listen.

Far Away...

Wind blown seeds become
trees, never to return to
their forest of birth.
