Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry.
The poems are limited to 3 lines and 17 syllables.

5 on the first line,
7 on the second line,
and 5 on the third.

I try to write one Haiku everyday.
Most days I fail, but some days inspiration strikes.
Sometimes it gushes for days at a time.
You can never tell when something will touch your heart.

Thanks for spending a moment reading
Haiku from the Heart.

I hope you'll be back to read my words.

Washed Away

Pitter-patter rain.
Walking, just me and the dog.
Briefly my heart stills.

Wheel of Time

Once I was the seed...
Flew, set roots in distant lands.
Now I am the tree.

When your reflection
screams at you with raw fury,
something has to change.

Sometimes You'll Get It Wrong

When pulling out weeds,
some seedlings get trampled too.
Still, the garden grows.

Can't Do It All

When winter holds sway,
even the mighty oak slows -
waiting for spring growth.

They Need The Space

The acorn that falls
close to the giant oak tree,
grows not a giant.

Are You Really Helping?

Lifting his child's burden.
Water withheld from parched Earth.
So the cloud lets go.

Refugee Lives

Scattered by the wind
and dormant on fertile soil.
Awaiting new roots.

Beautiful Flowers

Tending his garden.
Ever nourishing with love,
leaves the farmer drained.

Time overcomes grief.

Flex - Your Strength

The blades of grass bend
to let the dew drops descend;
easing their burden.

But You're Beautiful

The flowering pear.
Envies the towering pine.
Wishing it was tall.

Fair Trade?

The river runs through.
Nourishing, but taking too.
How should the Earth feel?

Distant Thunder

"I laughed, lots" she says.
The thought nourishes my soul.
Like rain on parched land.

Teenage Conflict

Lightning strikes... Thunder.
Fire! Inferno rages.
Rain. Smoke. Embers. Ash.

Immigrants

They see the tall tree,
but miss the stream feeding it.
We get the job done.

Nature of the Job

Tending your rose bush.
Pruning the dead wood and rot.
Some thorns will draw blood.

Nature / Nurture

Tending your garden.
Build a trellis near the shoot.
The vine goes elsewhere.

Mirror, Mirror

We meet again when
our kids are mirrors of us
when we met at first.

Still Crazy After All These Years

Twenty five years gone.
But the light of friendships past,
switch on when we meet.
